She called out as she opened the door, dropping her belongs in the walkway. "Erik, I have rent money." It was clear how she had gotten that money, a busted lip, black eye, a few cuts here and there. It hadn't been that long since he had patched her up. However, Channing wasn't a delicate little flower and got back on her feet as soon as she could.
She pulled a ball of wrinkled up money out of her pocket, placing it down on the table with enough force that it shook. She really didn't have a reason to be mad, but maybe she didn't need one. "I'm going back out tonight." She called out. She didn't like staying here, not with him. They were just too different.
She loved him deep down, he was her only family, but her tolerance for him was quite low.

He can't help the frown that grows on his face when he hears her come in the door. It's not that he's angry, upset, because he's not. It's not that he's disappointed, because he isn't. It's that he knows from the moment she says she has rent money that she was out fighting again, and he's just sad. He wishes for a lot of things - safety, a better home, a garden that's too big for him to care for all on his own - but there is nothing he wants more in life than for his dearest sister to be happy. He's unsure if cage fighting is what does it, but he wishes it weren't something that made her come home looking worse for wear. He wants her to never have to fight again, because that's what she deserves. She deserves to never have to lift her finger up again, deserves the best that she can possibly milk out of life. Instead, they were born as monsters, and because of that, she's throwing herself at dangerous people for dangerous things. He gets up from the seat he was reading in, leans against the doorway, and doesn't fight the soft smile on his face, or the way his eyes seem to take a sad gleam. "I wish you wouldn't." But Erik doesn't get his wishes. He never does, he never will, it's a sad fact that he's learned to accept. "At least let me clean you up, first? Put something in your belly, if you're willing to wait a little longer?"CHANNING MARIE |

She intercepted the look in his eye fairly different from how he meant it. She could feel disappointment, maybe even pity, but she had no sense when it came to understanding others. His look could have killed her if perhaps she were a weaker woman, force her into tears, but she wasn't. All they did was force her to clench her fists, as anger swelled. She had already put enough holes in the wall. "I don't care what you wish." This is how she treated him, cold. Soon flashes of her beaten and bruised, blood oozing, almost every bone broken, and Erik's kind face came to her. She didn't want to rely on him - on anyone - like that ever again. She reluctantly sat down though, if only for the look in his eyes. She looked down though, unable to meet his gaze for any longer. "I haven't eaten since yesterday, it'd be nice." She hadn't been home since yesterday either. "I can treat my own wounds." Not like him though, she didn't have that kind healing touch. ERIK ALEJANDRO, fuck templates atm |

Erik forces himself to look away when he sees the effect that he seems to have on her. He doesn't like her anger, the arguments that spark out of it, and it seems to make her angrier when he tries to avoid them after they've begun. "I know." He presses his lips into a thin line, crosses his arms over his chest as though that will pull him in closer. Though, he lets his heart lift when she does accept his offer for food, in her own Channing way. He can't help the grin that crosses his face, because the sheer amount of happiness he's feeling should be criminal. "One meal, coming up." With that, he disappears in the kitchen, the sound of pots and pans being moved about. "Is there anything you want in particular?" Unsure of whether she'd followed him or not, he raises his voice, leaning back to peek out the doorway. CHANNING MARIE, i feel u man |

She waited till he turned away from her to get up, refusing to see her wince as she tried to get up. She should be back to normal in a few days, she guessed. She followed him in, but stopped to lean against the doorway, arms crossed. "Make what you want, something hearty is all I ask for." He can cook, she burned just about everything she tried to do. Unless she wants to go hungry or spend money, she's got to eat her brother's cooking. That's how its justified in her mind, anyway. "How's the garden?" Her small talk is atrocious and she wondered why she even bothered anymore, she was so bad with words. She couldn't talk her way out of a paper bag. "Do we have alcohol?" She had a problem, but for once, she didn't actually mean drinking alcohol. ERIK ALEJANDRO, 2 much work 4 me |

He only nods in response as he started pulling out ingredients. Though, he cannot keep back the quiet hum that bubbles out as he prepares. If he could convey messages through food, he thinks there would be no doubt that maybe he can show her that she doesn't have to go out and fight every night. There are other ways to make money. "Thriving, as always." She's terrible at small talk, but he doesn't mind. Small talk is talk, and that's more than what she usually gives him. "It's a little harder trying to find people who want to buy them, but I've managed." It seemed to help that his herbs were rather high quality. "Bathroom, bottom cupboard." He figured it wasn't to drink, considering the amount of cuts and bruises she had this time. CHANNING MARIE |

When Erik wasn't around she found herself sitting in his garden, staring at his handiwork. She was good with nature, but she could never do anything to his scale. Channing doesn't have much to add, so she moves to the bathroom, treating her wounds and wincing when the stinging sets in. Will he manage though? She knows he likes to think they will, she knows he wants her to quit. She wants stability, but everytime she gets close to it, she runs. When she returns to the kitchen, she still doesn't have much to say, so she watches him cook till something pops into her head. "You'd make someone a great housewife, brother." Everything she says to him is a jab at something of his. and this is no different. "What are you cooking? It... smells nice." Oddly smells of home, of childhood.
