What with the site war event going on, I figured I could share a few character ideas that I've been mulling over in my head. While I don't believe Irkalla has too many characters heavily involved in the military, I believe their upper hand will be in sciences and technology.
Ergo! Here are a few characters for Irkalla that I feel would be pretty neat to see and would help give them an edge.
Arms dealers: Become the Stony(a) Tark that Devotio deserves...
Inventors: Considering that Shara hasn't figured out how to take to the skies just yet, I imagine that Irkalla is literal inventor's heaven. They probably have a lot of free reign when it comes to inventions, especially weapons in this case scenario. But it doesn't have to end there, since plenty of equipment can go into recon as well. Find Irkalla council members to support your inventions and make bank.
Scientists: Seeing characters dabbling in the divide between science and magic would be kind of neat. In times of conflict, there is a heavier emphasis on sciences in hopes that the field can push out information that can be used and manipulated for things useful to the war. I'd imagine they would work fairly closely with the inventors to create something with enough firepower against Shara.
Strategists: Calling all think-tanks! Brains are equally as important as brawn.
Journalists: With the upcoming war, the general public will need to be informed about the occurring events. In addition, propagandists could probably have a field day with all of it.
Diplomats/Charismastic as Heck People: It helps a lot if people feel like there is someone, in addition to something they are fighting for. Leaders of this vein do not necessarily need to be combatants. In fact, most diplomats/de facto leaders probably won't be doing any fighting at all. Figure heads are always nice.
Charismatic as Heck People Who Might Also Be Off Their Rockers: Armed conflict between Shara and Irkalla is probably a really great opportunity for all the hyped-up visionaries out there to seize power. Considering the nature of Irkalla is, I imagine, more democratic/potentially more laissez-faire about governing, some internal power struggles might be neat to see?
Loyalists: Not everyone is going to be filled with Irkallan pride. Why not give a loyalist a shot if that's what you're about? Behind the scenes work could be kind of interesting, putting on a nationalistic face while secretly working against the faction.
Vigilantes: Someone please app a vigilante Irkalla squad...
Doctors: Considering the fact there will be armed conflict, they will be pretty handy to have. Healers to the max?
