He knows these streets like the back of his hand. He remembers what it was like, bare soles, bleeding feet pressing against the unforgiving pavement. It's different now though; Lyndon walks with rubber soles pressed against the concrete as opposed to raw skin. But the people, the people are always different, no matter how many times he visits these streets. The buildings remain the same, but the human scenery shifts constantly (humans and monsters intermingled, of course, but they are all the same to Lyndon). He's never seen this man before, or rather, he's never seen his jacket before. It's all that Lyndon sees as he goes colliding face-first into the stranger, and whatever the stranger was holding goes toppling out of the man's hands and onto the pavement. Despite being wrapped in cloth, the sound of shattering ceramic makes it loud and clear that it's broken in half. "I-I'm sorry, I should have been paying more attention to where I was going," Lyndon says, quickly crouching to retrieve the item to hand it back to the stranger. sapiens qui prospicit

There's nothing quite like the rush of a heist gone right. His hands feel electric, and he can't stop the small hop in his step as he stores the ceramic statuette under his arm. He figures that he'll turn around and sell it to some shop owner who doesn't pay attention to gossip. Or, he could ditch town, sneak a ride and pawn the statuette to someone. Or, at least, that was supposed to be the plan. It's come to a crashing halt as his statuette falls to the ground and shatters underneath the cloth that he'd so cleverly hidden it under. Dallas can't help the large frown that crosses his face as he shifts his weight around, and there's a small voice in the back of his head that points out that at least no one will be able to recognize it now. Because it's in pieces. He pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs. "No it- it's fine." But the kid acts on his own accord, apparently going to pick the pieces up anyway, and Dallas crouches down to lend a hand. "Nothing to really save anyway, considering it's kind of not mine."LYNDON JOYCE

The cloth prevented the pieces from scattering too far. In fact, if one were to keep it wrapped carefully while transporting it elsewhere, they might even be able to piece it back together and glue it whole. Unfortunately, the statuette would never be the same as it had been prior to its great fall. Perhaps, in the end, disposing of it would be the wisest idea. Because of his upbringing, the first thing that comes to Lyndon's mind is that the broken item was a stolen good. But that couldn't have been right. This man did not look like a delinquent (and neither did he, which was probably how he'd managed to stay under the radar so well). "I... I see," the boy says, handing a few stray pieces back to the stranger. His father has taught him manners, so he adds. "Um... I'm Lyndon. Is there anything I can do to help? Even if the item didn't belong to you, I shouldn't have been so careless."sapiens qui prospicit
