[attr="class","appbody"] [attr="class","appcat"]bio (( Woah is that a theme song? You bet it is! )) “Humans are such fickle things, fragile and finite of life yet so willing to throw their short little lives away in such petty pursuits...” Demon, daughter, heretic, student, hunter parasite, lover, wife. Vladimira has held many names and titles throughout her life. She is an enigmatic being, a parasite by nature, demon by name and succubus by classification. Yet, even with the dread and malice that one would attribute to a succubus, she is deeply curious of the humans that she draws her lifeblood from, obsessively so. To be entirely honest, the poor dear has an intense interest in the trials and tribulations of humanity. Their stories and every day lives are so engrossing to the demon that she has taken to hiding among their numbers not to cloak herself in anonymity, but to taste the sweet temptation of a simpler, more passionate life. She has spent this life drifting from city to city, village to village, playing the part of just any other person, dancing the dance of young sweet love, dining on the 'hum drum' of life and absolutely delighting in taking part of all those little stories and coincidences that make up human life. She has been a farmer, a baker, a soldier, a blushing wife, a lost orphan, a devout traveling nun and a dashing dragon hunter. Yet, each of these lives were ultimately little more than a role to the succubus. As soon as she would appear, she would vanish again when her interest waned and the taste of the local's emotions and energy grew stale. She would not spend more than a decade playing part in anyone of these acts. The shortest of these being nary a handful of weeks that left the drained corpse of her champion in her wake, quite possibly her greatest performance if she could so brag. Emotionally, she seems to be rather easy going, calm and confident and ever ready to offer a smile or a kind word. She's overtly friendly to new people, bubbly even! But under these kind smiles and sweet words are glimpses of absolute confidence and sharp intelligence. Those with their wits about them might notice a sarcastic or smug edge to the grins she gives at times, or a comment that is far more introspective or aware than would be comfortable for most. But of course, she quite commonly plays these off as little jokes or nothing worth the effort. Though, she would never admit it, she is a hedonist at heart, always in pursuit of more and more pleasures and interjecting herself into the stories of other lives, to more often then not, quite suddenly leave them when the story hinges upon it's climax. She is utterly secure in her intelligence and quite truly convinced that she is the smartest one in the room at any one point and that she always has the upper hand. [attr="class","appcat"]lore & abilities Among the varied ranks and forms of demon, few are reviled and looked upon with such disgust as the succubi. Twisted amalgamations of perversion, corruption and malice cruelly cloaked by the porcelain mask of femininity. The clergy warn of man eaters who prey upon the lust of the innocent and weave intricate webs of charm and perverse sexual taboo, that haunt the minds of men in the night and work their dark magic. Their fates are intrinsically tied with the humans they view as cattle, forever cursed to walk among their numbers to sate the unending hunger that define their very existence. A cruel state of affairs has been imposed by both parts of the human-sucubus relationship, but... Cest' la vie. The Lover's snare: Vladimira can, simply put, dominate the minds of humans. It is never an instant process, and the Succubus needs to exert no small amount of effort into tempting her prey into her web. The process is insidious, she is nearly always cloaked in an aura of insatiable attraction, and all it takes is a simple glance where they lock eyes or a gentle touch upon the arm for the seeds of her trap to be placed. It works quickly from there when she has their attention, sweet words, innocent flirting, a soft hug, and she has implanted herself in their minds. Her essence will then haunt her prey, torturing their dreams with temptations and promises, already slowly draining their essence and tormenting their waking hours with hallucination and whispers. For most, it is only a matter of time before they become a willing thrall to the succubus, lost to the demon in a pact in which they are little more than playthings to be used and discarded at will. This process can be circumvented by those with the willpower to resist the urges, and the taint of her influence can be easily sensed by those who would call themselves holy. To say nothing of the fact that she rarely uses such a skill, she finds mindless slaves so... Dull. The lover's burden: Vladimira's very existence depends upon humans, or to be more precise, the energy that gives them life. She can drain this essence through contact, sapping the human of their strength and energy with ease, quickly gaining dominance and leaving only a small window for escape while she becomes stronger as her prey becomes weaker. While she feeds upon the essence, much of it is stored to be used for nourishment at a later point, or to build upon her power. Those she only marginally feeds upon are left lethargic and dazed, a sensation of gripping cold working along their limbs. Those she preys upon longer are left in unresponsive comas, a dead eyed living corpse devoid of the spark of life. And for those that she may well find particularly delicious? Well, little more than a drained corpse will be left as evidence of her splurging. Though, such draining tends to leave behind a highly visible trail, and Mira is quite often forced to feed off the latent energies present in large groupings of people to avoid suspicion. But then, those are only morsels sufficient to keep herself balanced. Mana burn: When push comes to shove, Vladimira can use her stored essence reserves as an offensive or defensive tool. Most commonly taking form as flight and bolts of corrupted energy that eats through steel and flesh alike. While she can utilize her powers to a certain extent while disguised as a human, she can only use them to their full potential when her nature is fully exposed. Though, as the power of the attacks increase or the use is prolonged, so is the drain, and her power is anything but unlimited. Indeed, she can only fight for so long until exhausting herself. Nature's curse: Vladimira is a parasite, and as such, must prey upon humans to maintain her form. As such, she is cursed to walk among humans for all of her existence, feeding upon them from the shadows despite insistence that she is the predator. Her life is a delicate balancing act because of such a fact, always gauging how much essence she is burning and how much she could afford to lose at any one time if the need happened to arise. Enemy of the Church: The Clergy are well versed in the aspects of her race and as such is protected against much of her charm and beguile, they're a headache to say the least, and most can quite easily detect the corrupted miasma that is left in traces wherever she may tread. Religious iconography and holy sites similarly give her pause. Exposure: When exposed in her natural form to a human, she loses the bonds and the ties to the minds she is dominating, only retaining her thralls, and even those may be sacrificed in a pinch. | [attr="class","appname"]Vladimira Katenin [attr="class","appicon"] [attr="class","appstats"] AGE: 67 SEX: F RACE: Monster; Succubus.
