[attr="class","appbody"] [attr="class","appcat"]bio "Find peace in the embrace of the Goddess" The de Leons were devout believers. Hungry souls that found their spiritual appetites sated by the imperial creation myth. As children of the Goddess, they were pious. Their children were pious. And their children's children were pious. Francis grew up chanting hymns in the Goddess's name before the sun set, and went to bed whispering prayers and wishes to her before it rose. Tales of champions fighting monsters and sitting at the Goddess's side entertained him for years until the truth of their perpetual reincarnation was revealed. With this revelation, the words for champions and monsters alike changed, but he and his family's dedication to the Goddess did not waver. "Find purpose in the infinity of Her cycle" The de Leons were a family of privilege. Wealthy folk that found their literal appetites sated by the meat and wines their means could afford them. As products of this privilege, some of them were spoiled. Some of them were arrogant. And some of them were neither of these things. Francis, out of all his siblings and cousins, was the first witch in the family in countless generations. Tales of champions sitting at the Goddess's side not only entertained his siblings and cousins, but spurred the lot of them to become champions themselves. Not Francis, however. No, even before the revelation of reincarnation, he was content to stay with his studies. He was content to seek whatever knowledge could brush his mortal fingertips. Glory found in the spine of a book was just as good as that found in the spine of a defeated adversary. But like many across the world, bits and pieces of his past selves revealed themselves. Memories hidden in a haze of mental fog reached out to him. He was a champion? He was as the Goddess made him. [attr="class","appcat"]lore & abilities Possessing the average strength of a man his age, Francis's true talent lies, predictably, in magic. That being said, the fencing lessons he took up as a young boy are utilized to full-effect when he uses his Vorpal Blade. The Vorpal Blade is not a weapon made of metal, but pure, solidified magical energy that coats and extends from Francis's forearm. Perpetually sharper than any man-made sword, and capable of cutting through almost any non-enchanted object, the Vorpal Blade is a literal extension of his unwavering will, and his first and last line of defense in close combat. Of course, anyone can cause harm, but no amount of strength can make a weapon heal. Francis's disposition is that of a lover, not a fighter. A proponent of peace, a pacifist at heart and a true child of the Goddess, he focused on the art of healing and restoration in his magical studies. White magic, if you would. Spells that mend wounds and rehabilitate the injured are his to use, however limited they may be. He won't be bringing anyone back from the dead, and some wounds or diseases may be even too critical for his magic, but the fact remains that his ability could match that of any mortal doctor. Beyond that, he has some minor affinity for offensive, lightning-based spells. Simple directing of lavender colored sparks at the snap of his fingers aren't too much for him. He could even conjure a lightning-based glyph of paralysis, albeit one that's somewhat weak and temporary at most. His attention on other areas have left his skills, in this respect, rather underdeveloped. The only enduring consistency between Francis and his former lives is that of faith. His love and trust of the Goddess is the tie that bonds him to his past selves.
