A small ripple appeared in the middle of a mirror, then vanished. A minute later it reappeared before suddenly a hundred ripples flowed across the glass surface, growing larger and more aggressive until a woman’s silhouette could be made out. Eisley, as Veronica Holloway, stepped gingerly into what she suspected to be a small mechanic’s shop. The mirror she’d used was actually just a really shiny piece of scrap metal, possibly the hull of some ship. Checking left and right, Eisley smoothed down her skirt before heading towards the shop’s exit. She’d kept careful watch over this mechanic for the past few days, and hoped her timing had been correct. Humans were always so upset when she emerged from their mirrors without warning. Eisley’s interest in zeppelins, and technology in general, had been minimal at best until a few weeks ago, when she happened to take a peek through a rich madam’s compact mirror. To her surprise, instead of an overdecorated parlor, the background she’d been treated to was the middle of the sky. Eisley’s previous trips to the human world had all involved her two feet planted solidly on the ground, so of course she was intrigued. She emerged from the shop with her hair twisted in what was hopefully a decent approximation of the latest fashion and headed down the street, eyes glued to the sky.

what is air to the lungs | she doesn't come to irkalla often, seeing how she lives in shara, where the city is still at odds with -- understandable, considering that they are currently in rebellion -- and that she is the main person in charge of the ranch. her father might still help out sometimes, but it is liana that carries the most weight in matters, and that means that she is a woman that doesn't shirk work often for any reason, the least so for something as trivial as vacation.
but seeing the large zeppelins and the sky in the backdrop, knowing that these large iron machinery can fly as well as any of her dracolisks can, is something else. perhaps even worth the "vacation" that her father had all but forced her to accept, but she won't be admitting that to him.
liana isn't as air-headed as to take her eyes away from where she's walking, though; she's learned that lesson enough with some of her more flighty dracolisks. but dock activity still makes it a challenge for her to weave through the crowd -- enough of one that she bumps into a light-haired girl, pressed against the crowd.
"you should watch where you're going," liana says. it's a bit of friendly advice, stranger to stranger. "and not the sky -- unless there's something up there we should all see?" she takes a glance up herself, but doesn't see anything odd or untoward.
