you were meant for chaos - born and raised by the fickle winds, strife is just as much apart of you as is the heart that beats in your chest. it's in your blood.

the cities are full and bustling, enough to draw you away or intrigue you closer. it can't be appetite (you've always been peckish and never had a taste for the flesh of a human) and walking past the gates makes you skittish. but you stay, always, for a little while. entertain, blend, observe. masks are useless when you can hide safely behind the distraction of an instrument.

fate and prophecy seem too good to be true, but having been stumbled upon by your executioner - champion, a mocking hiss - something there feels intangible. their margin of error is small, but enough to make an escape. to this day you carry the scars on your monster body, and mourn the loss of the large fraction of your freedom. they know what you are, but your human identity remains intact.

and while you have your life, the shame is still there. caught unawares, running seemed the only option. you're still running, not so much following the winds as becoming them. it is as much cowardice as it is instinct.

next time, you will not walk away without your champion's heart in your hand.



a thunderbird is typically as large as it is wrathful. their wing-beats are said to sound like the clap of thunder, shooting lightning bolts from their eyes and gathering storm clouds at will. by way of lore it's slightly exaggerated, but the implication is the same. they have power over certain aspects of weather and have a tendency to be temperamentally volatile.

weather manipulation ava can call up rain, wind, and lightning. powerful bouts of a storm are only created and controlled while a bird. snow and winter weather are beyond her control. it's easy enough to make storms of her own, but reducing them is the hard part. it's more in her nature to create chaos and leave it be when she doesn't have use for it anymore.

flight self-explanatory. though flying while human isn't preferred because the whole process of changing halfway is painful, and using wings that way is a clumsy process. flying is better left to when she's a full-fledged bird.
