To add a bit more depth to that assertion, Kenelm was raised within the rules and regulations of the church with the intention of one day fighting wars to advance the Goddess's name. For years now he's fought battles, slain his enemies, and lost friends all in her name, and while he's dealt with a lot of grief and pain he finds much of his solace in his faith. In fact, he's reached a point in his life where his faith to his mission is the one thing that keeps him going through all the death and destruction. Still, he's not a bunch of angst in a suit of armor -- I promise. [break][break] Despite his problems in the past and his focus on his mission, Kenelm does his best to remain open to other people and their problems. His placement in the High City leaves him in a position to help and defend the aristocracy, and he has a special soft spot for children and teenagers in distress. Otherwise he makes frequent trips outside of the cities of Sathra and off to the area of the Four Rivers and the Centerspine Mountains. The latter usually only when accompanied by a few allies in arms and only when fully equipped for any possible bad happenings. [break][break] Finally, Kenelm has learned not to make petty problems with others. He does his best to avoid prejudice, but her can't help but judge most criminals and anyone operating in the same realm of bandits. Monsters are always bad, sorry, that's just what the gospel says. No, if you're looking for a poor girl seeking redemption or a jealous creature who just wants to be human this is the last place to look. She despises humans for being the Goddess's favorites, and hates them even more for their frail weakness. While she revels in the hunt of anything living and breathing, humans are her favorite prey. This has made her a bit infamous, but she does have a bit going for her. Not all that much, admittedly, but a bit. [break][break] While she may walk around smiling and grinning, Ignatia is no ditzy fool. And, as a result of this, also tends to enjoy meeting others who aren't ditzy fools. Her smile becomes a bit more genuine when a human feels something is off, and even more so when a fellow monster shows a bit of brains to their brawn. Ignatia values strength, and while it may not be enough to save you if you're already on the menu it might convince her to give you more time to marinate. She wanders to the cities near to the Northern Wastes and has on occasion made her way into the cities, but sees the latter as too much risk to do often. [break][break] As for disputes, Ignatia has them in spades. All humans are prey and thus all humans will prevent conflict. Strong, weak, male, female, adult, child, etc, etc, etc. All are up for grabs and if she can trick you into an alley and bite you she will. Still, if you're entertaining you'll earn yourself extra days, weeks, months -- hell some get a year. Other monsters are to stay out of her territory and avoid eating her prey. This ensures you get along to some extent, but she still can't help but poke fun and test your metal. After all, who wants weak ass monsters hanging around? [break]

um since he's kind of a champion slash rly old holy knight i have KILLIAN who might want something to do with him. killian is like 10 years younger than this guy and tbh he'd probably idolize kenelm in a way?? in that wow rly cool knight i can aspire to be kind of like- and then he's also a champion so that works out as well in a way. they can bond over spars and kenelm trying to make killian better or someth.
i have erik too but tbh i could see kenelm and erik being friends but maybe the kind where they're kind of cautious because kenelm might kind of feel like there's something UP with erik and eventually when it comes out that hey he's not a human he can be like whelp shit.

KENELM AYERS & ITHA OREL - so, maybe this could go a few different ways? either they meet recently, maybe kenelm things itha is a sweet girl and is sort of fatherly towards her. but plot twist, she's a monster and of course she'd tiptoe around it but eventually i can see him maybe encourage repetance and itha admitting it to him. and that fallout might be fun. alternatively, he might have known her as a witch, before she uh tore out and ate someone's heart and ran off... which could be interesting if he recognizes her.
KENELM AYERS & IGGIE VAN ALLAN - oh man i know this guy isn't done but he's literal trash, just the way these two would clash... iggie lives in the high city because he's a scryer, but he's filthy and depraved and i'm not sure what kelnelm would want to do about that i am pretty sure he wouldn't like him at all.
IGNATIA WEAVER & SHAKTI - all monsters are fair game. shakti may come off as ditzy, she does like pretty things, (maybe ignatia has sewn for her?) but she's perceptive and savage. i can see her going for ignatia, since she's always trying to kill monsters that she's in no place to kill.
IGNATIA WEAVER & ITHA OREL - i'd love a territory dispute. i mean, itha isn't very savy about being a monster quiet yet, and it would be ignorance more than actually wanting to encroach, but maybe ignatia would want to you know... have a talk...

KILLIAN REYES So we talked about this a bit but let me elaborate. Killian is cool and has a lot of potential and Kenelm likes that. He likes that Kenelm wants to be a good knight and has put tons of time into his art. At the same time he's old fashioned as hell, even if he is only ten years older than Killian. As a result he fricken HATES HIS DUAL WIELDING SWORDS WHAT'S WRONG KID!? Jokes aside, I like this. Expect a thread where Kenelm tries vehemently to get him to pick up a fricken SHIELD.
ERIK ALEJANDRO ofc Erik plots need to happen. Kenelm has a pretty good radar for weird things and has become especially perceptive in hunting monsters in human skin. Since Erik is so Erik he probably won't notice all that much for a good amount of time, but you can bet that once he does there'll be problems. If he notices him all the way you can 110% expect an attempted culling, but -- like we also talked about -- if Erik keeps up this pacifism shit it's going to be hard for Kenelm to justify killing him. DO SOMETHING BAD OR AT LEAST TURN INTO A RAD PEGASUS SO HE CAN KILL YOU.
ITHA OREL I like the former a little bit more than the latter simply because I feel there's more to do, yakno? So Kenelm has a weak spot for people younger than him, and chivalry dictates he has an even softer spot for women. Witch girls are kind of weird for him because depending on the kind of magic he kind of feels like it's unholy??? But either way I can see him seeing her and thinking she could use a hand. Eventually she realizes she seems to have a weight on her shoulders and good-naturedly asks if she'd like to open up to him and confess her sins as it helps the Goddess forgive. And then she says she's a man-eating monster and Kenelm does a faith-driven 180 and vows to end her somehow. Cue awkward meetings were Kenelm hides fatherly tears behind his helmet visor and frequently doesn't kill her (not her fated champ anyway).
As for Itha and Ignatia I love this. Ignatia grew up fighting before she could see, and so she has no mercy for new monsters. Killing her people is killing her people and if she catches you you can expect some hardcore bullying. Helped along by the fact that Ignatia is probably much larger than Itha while in her spider form? Regardless Ignatia hates seeing others kill those she's hunting and will become borderline -- if not completely -- violent over the fact that Itha did just that. Expect really mean and threatening words at best and a bit of attempted smacking-around at worst.
P.S. If Ignatia ever finds out Itha is still trying to live as a human just to live as a human she's never going to hear the end of it and Ignatia is actually going to want to murder her because "weak".
IGGIE VAN ALLAN So the dirty and downtrodden earn his sympathy as those not as touched by the Goddess as many. Kenelm works hard to help those who are under privileged. Those with privilege who decide to squander it piss him off. If Iggie is causing problems on top of wasting his Goddess-given opportunities and gifts you can expect Kenelm to give him a hard time. At first it may be a bit fatherly, but if ignored long enough he's going to just rough the kid up a bit and tell him to get his shit together.
SHAKTI Oh man Ignatia loves heroes trying to end her hunting. A good fight spices up a hunt so well. I like the idea that Shakti has seen her monstrous form and thus hunts her, but at the same time Ignatia hunts her since she's a loose end and could ruin all her hard work. Either way Shakti is between a rock and a hard place since Ignatia is a dangerous, old, vicious spider bitch who would like nothing more than to scatter a would-be hero's blood on the trees and ground.

THIS IGNATIA WEAVER X SOPHIA PLOT NEEDS TO HAPPEN!!!! ok so sophia grew up in the northern mountains too right. she's lost a mother to human soldiers and remains the last of her kind, but she's no slouch. she's lived alone for several decades and i'm thinking that maybe they got into some kind of bloody fight, just being business as usual in the centerspine mountains? sophia probably held her own bc she can make physical shit phase through her + super strength, unless ignatia knew to like. set a fire or hit her with some iron. and then grudging respect? sophia was also a man eater during all those time in the mountains. never had an actual taste for gratuitious violence, but didn't really shy from it at all. as i said, buisness as usual. maybe they were ... maybe not close since sophia is so asocial, but had an understanding going on??? five years ago sophia fled monster territory and accidentally stumbled into shara to be picked up by thalia. that's when she started socializing into a human and avoiding her old monster contacts. she's currently in irkalla, pretending to be a noblewoman with a loving family and bright future. i want them to meet again in the present day and ignatia can completely SHAME HER for what she is and what she's become. if she's in front of her human guard, she'd even let ignatia pierce her in order to appear human instead of letting an attack slip through (and i feel like it could be a really strong testament to how committed she is to her lie and i think an angry ignatia would be a fun ignatia). i want there to be a lot of pent up feelings coming up to the surface after ignatia slaughters her guard or something. it will be fun!!! pls do this w me dizzy |

SOPHIA ROSENBURG (this is a plot w/Iggy, just didn't switch accounts woops) Okay so this is a relationship that isn't going to be positive in the slightest and frankly Sophia is everything she hates in a monster. Is she any kind of sizeable beast, capable of intimidating others and great shows of strength? Naw not really. I mean she has super strength, but Ignatia herself is strong as hell due to her size and supernatural nature. Is she all that powerful? Well she's able to dodge moves by having them go through her, but then what? Does she hate humans? Obviously not.
Frankly I don't know how a fight between them would have gone. Not to toot my own horn or some shit but I frankly believe Ignatia would have had the upper hand. She's been fighting others of her strength since she was literally a baby and has done nothing but hunt and murder for most of her life. Sophia on the other hand doesn't seem to have quite as much experience fighting anything but humans, but what do I know? I'm just judging by her history in your app.
Anyway, either way you really have to wow Ignatia to get respect. Stalemates or near losses (and even if she managed to defeat Ignatia --- near victories) mean super little to her. I don't think Sophia would have managed a crushing victory or anything else especially interesting to her. Especially since whenever they fought Ignatia was significantly older. Business as usual sure, but both before and after the battle Sophia hasn't done anything to really impress Ignatia. Just stayed alive, which is something she again did as a baby.
Addressing Ignatia's hate now, Sophia has done two things Ignatia sees as ultimately shameful. She ran away, and from humans no less. And then she gave into human culture and tried to "humanize" herself. See, Ignatia hates humans for being the Goddess's favored race -- especially considering her race is said to have been cursed by this same Goddess. What she hates even more though are monsters playing at being human. She knows humans hate monsters and firmly believes that all a monster is doing by "humanizing" them self is becoming weaker both physically and mentally. So the latter part of your plot is fine in that Ignatia could attack Sophia.
I'm not sure if Sophia would wander into Shara with her guard or what, idk. I personally don't see Ignatia making too many trips to Irkalla, not even for some monster she has it out for. Either way if she shows up in Shara and Ignatia recognizes her you can expect her to tear up and attempt to kill both Sophia and her entire group of guards. And if she didn't know back then, you can be damn sure Ignatia knows to set a Draugr on fire now. Might even see if any of the soldiers have iron swords she can stab at her with. Either way their past would be shit and this reunion would be shit: the revival.

IGNATIA WEAVERi feel like it says something really sadistic about me that the biggest issue i see is "how the fuck are they even gonna run into each other after sophia is driven outta the north and into the human lowlands" tbh i mostly want iggy to bully sophia. it will be fun!!! like she can put on her ice queen persona and fuck shit up but get a tad more bothered about how strong iggy is after she sheathes her own fangs for good (or so she assumes). and nah i wrote her app back when i was actually enforcing the 500 word app limit to i cut down a lot of shit. i just assumed that people would know that living up north means that you get to fuck up a lot of shit. mostly shit with fangs and claws and fiery breath. even if iggy doesnt see her as a rival, sophia is gonna be wary af of her (preferably by personal experience than reputation). i don't think they would ideologically align either since sophia is super agnostic about the goddess and 'eh' about the 'fate of her race' and shit in general. man i rly want this plot but...................i have no idea...........on how to make the geography happen especially w/ sharan-irkalla relations being this bad ........dizzy help...... i mean i guess we could always have flashback threads

i'm so sorry it took me like a year to reply omg! i'm definitely still interested, just kept slipping my mind haha... KENELM AYERS & ITHA ORELi think itha might have had earth-based/white magic, but that's pretty irrelevant now lol. but yeah, they run into each other in shara, even if literally like he saw her carrying a bunch of stuff and was a kind gentleman lending a hand. they would probably need to know each other decently before itha decides to open up, but she's not exactly ashamed of being a monster tbh. it would be really interesting for him to encourage her to repent/confess/etc and then suddenly turn around like 'nope nevermind its too late'. dat betrayal. IGNATIA WEAVER & ITHA ORELi'd love some bullying... itha doesn't really have turf just animal insticts. so maybe she runs off just before sunrise after a kill, turns back human, and is suddenly standing in the middle of the forest being antagonized by a giant spider. ignatia could maybe recognize her in shara's market and itha just avoids the fuck outta her. KENELM AYERS & IGGIE VAN ALLANnot much to add here... sounds perfect tbh. kenelm is probably familiar with his family, too, may have watched iggie grow into the complete piece of shit he is today. it's great... plz beat up iggie... he deserves it... IGNATIA WEAVER & SHAKTIchinhands ignatia is so perfect... tbh shakti isn't even about being 'heroic' to help people as much for the sake of making her name known & spiting fate, but i doubt it makes any difference to iggy lol. but i can see shakti taking a weird joy in being hunted back /feeling like a threat, and yeah...these are all great if you wanna thread any i'm totally game! |

KENELM AYERS & callias o holy knight come confess to me your sins wait a second you dont have sins and im not a proper priest well this is awkward let me plot with kenelm... so yea holy places feel like home to him, right? well, callias is now the head of the fabel church in lower town. while the church got ravaged and pretty much destroyed a few months ago, idk maybe kenelm would wander in so that he could be close to the goddess? or maybe he's curious about what happened to the church. or..idk, maybe kenelm knew callias's father and brother, and not cali because he left for a few years. might've visited the fabel church a couple of times, but was out of town when the church got plundered and only just found out about it and is heading there to see what's...going on with it. cue cali. relationship-wise, i...idk i feel like there might be some friendship between them, but they'd have some disagreements. cali would be intent on making kenelm see monsters as people too, and like people there's good monsters and bad monsters and that you can't stereotype. and kenelm would take the opposite view. ngl i do see kenelm as trying to take on the role of a guardian for cali and then cali himself feels like it's his duty to guide others so, there could be a bit of deep discussions about how they feel and such also kenelm questioning why callias is a priest when he isn't devoted to the goddess that'd be amusing KENELM AYERS & felyse idk...you want aristocracy? i got some right here. want a witch? felyse has that covered too. tbh i'm not sure how these two would get along, and plus, with them being on opposite sides, that'd create conflict. BUT, felyse was in shara from eighteen to twenty-five, so kenelm and felyse could've met then. i'd love for them to have sparred every so often. and idk i feel like kenelm would be wary of felyse or something because of the whole story that's kept quite hush-hush about felyse as being the one who killed an irkallan nobleman in a sparring match by poisoning his blade and...yea, wound festered and the guy died. idk...i just feel like these two would be good to plot too. IGNATIA WEAVERcan i just say i love all the spider puns...also come work with artemis...jk. idk if you have any ideas for ignatia and my characters i'd be happy to hear them oh also, kenelm offering callias help in rebuilding the church (◕‿◕✿) ok im done /lame-o out
