TAKE ME TO CHURCH i worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies i'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife offer me that deathless death good god let me give you my life He liked to think he knew the city like the back of his hand. He liked to think that he could navigate the streets as though he'd grown up on them, and he also liked to think that he was human. While none of these things were true, there were little comforts that Erik allowed himself to think to keep himself at ease, and he continued to tell himself these three things as he trekked the streets. Each day spent away from his home, his garden, was a day that he was certain he'd be found out. Just one slip up and everyone would know that he wasn't human, he was merely a wolf in sheepskin, and it wasn't much of a comfort as he tried to make himself look smaller. Erik figured if he was small enough, people would overlook him, and he prayed to the Goddess that no one would look too carefully. He'd found that he blended in better when people overlooked him. Not to mention that he was utterly lost. Somewhere along the way, he'd made a wrong turn. Somewhere along the way, he mistook a landscape for something it wasn't actually was, and because of that he didn't recognize anything around him. The stores were strange, and he was certain that there weren't as many angry looking people around his home. Or maybe that was just him. A frown on his face, he settled for tapping the nearest shoulder. AVA HAYES. |

[nospaces] [attr="class","ntxt"] Sometimes Ava would play music for currency, when she was short and didn't mind having some extra attention drawn her way. Sometimes a small crowd would gather, observe politely and clap when finished, drop a few coines her way. More often than not, however, they did not, and this was when Ava moved on to find somewhere with a more sway-able crowd. Her sense of Shara was painfully rough apart from the circular structures of the place, and she found herself in an area she really hadn't been trying to get in. [break][break] So far she'd successfully avoided being coddled by shady persons or child beggars, but she was beginning to get more than annoyed with the fact that she couldn't discern a way to get out. This was where she stopped and scowled because goddess be damned, she refused to ask for directions. Her map was utterly useless if she didn't know where the hell— [break][break] A tap on her shoulder interrupted her angry stream of thought, and she turned wary eyes to the stranger behind her. He didn't look that threatening, as opposed to some of the other men in the area. In fact, somehow he looked strangely out of place next to the rough background. Something just seemed too...pristine? That was probably the hair talking, in all honesty. [break][break] Ava cocked an eyebrow. "Er, yes?"[break][break] ERIK ALEJANDRO[newclass=".ntxt"]overflow: auto; height: 225px; padding-right: 5px; font: 11px trebuchet ms; text-align: justify; color: #dedede;[/newclass] [newclass=".ntxt::-webkit-scrollbar"]width: 9px; background: #dedede; border: 4px solid #0f0800;[/newclass] [newclass=".ntxt::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb"]background: #dedede; border: 3px solid #0f0800;[/newclass]

TAKE ME TO CHURCH i worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies i'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife offer me that deathless death good god let me give you my life For a moment, he wondered if she was going to ignore him and keep walking, prove him wrong that she looked like a generally nice person in the sea of everything else. In fairness, he wasn't too apt on trying to find someone else to pester, less apt on wandering around until he eventually got himself out. Then again, the face that greeted him when she turned around looked pleasant. It was almost as if she felt as out of place as he did. "Do you, uh, happen to know the way back to Old Town?" A sheepish grin, he wrung his hands in front of him, trying for all he was worth to look as harmless as he knew he was. "I seem to have gotten lost, honestly."And he much preferred to not be lost, chuckling nervously. He noted, although silently, that she seemed to look just as lost as he was. Maybe she wasn't going to be as much help as he had hoped. AVA HAYES, poopy post im sorry. |

[nospaces] [attr="class","ntxt"] Her face fell and she felt as much in despair again as he probably did. It was only a small comfort that she wasn't alone in this. [break][break] "No..." Looking sheepish and embarrassed herself, she averted her eyes. She had no tolerance for scrutiny - she was nomadic and it wasn't her fault if she didn't know the area, she told herself. "I'm lost as well."[break][break] It was ever more discouraging, considering the myth that birds could easily discern where north was. But it was just that, a myth, and the truth was that Ava had no better sense of direction than the average human. It was sad, really. [break][break] "I only have a map..." She trailed off, wanting to sink into the stone and never be seen again. [break][break] ERIK ALEJANDRO

Well, Erik seemed to be in luck. Instead of walking into some person with an intent to murder him, or finding himself in the presence of someone who would have preferred some form of bodily harm or another, he was instead in conversation with someone who was as lost as he was. While that wasn't exactly the greatest of ways to end up, Erik didn't seem to mind much as he gave Ava a small smile. "I suppose we're lost together, then." His voice sounded a lot lighter than he felt, and somehow he kept his smile from wavering. It was as if he found solace in the fact that he wasn't alone in being lost, as though it genuinely put him at ease. "A map is good! We might be able to navigate with it." Keyword: might. Erik was directionally challenged, and definitely couldn't navigate his way out of a cardboard box. "We just have to figure out where we are, and then we can follow the map to a place that's actually familar."The only problem with that was finding a place recognizable. AVA HAYES
