this is cael zaqar, seventeen, witch and head of the house of zaqar with zero free will to decide things for himself. all his life he's been expected to live up to this idea of becoming a god, and it's that delusion that makes what he really is that much more of a disappointment to both his family and the other noble families. his own family encouraged cael to live up to his high expectations, and when he didn't meet them, basically forced him through the path they thought he should be on, in hopes that those expectations would be fufilled. skinny, pale and unable to raise his voice past conversation level, the only fruit those plans bore was the intense hatred for the rest of his family members as well as an intense apathy for any mundane aspects of the world, emotions that cael always holds closest to his heart. his hate basically personifies his magic - bitter, resentful curses that can only inflict pain and misery onto other people and nothing more; they're difficult to ward off and even more so to remove, varying on a scale of intensity that's very much dependent on cael's personal preferences and the strength of his emotions. he has basic knowledge of the other forms of black magic (destruction, decay, hexes etc) but prefers to stick to curses, which have become his specialty over time. personality-wise, cael comes off as a broody child because of his baby-like face and short stature. most of the time he acts bored and aloof, but likes anything out of the ordinary or interesting to cut the day-to-day grind. he's intelligent and likes refining his magic, one of the few things that he actually feels passionate about. cael hates humans, mainly the nobility of shara, but has a strong interest in meeting other witches regardless of which school of art they practice. as for his family, he's very apathetic towards them, especially his siblings that weren't born witches and therefore, weren't even considered for head of the house. unlike him. he's open for any relationships - friends and enemies are infinite, and i would seriously be interested in discussing some sort of romance for him as long as his 'love interest' status stays open. as far as wanted ads go, I want to encourage more additions to the zaqar family, especially cael's siblings(please tell me if you're interested either by posting here or PM, thank), maybe his parents as well. |

zareen is a void witch who is slated to die in 10 years, give or take because her magic is just that powerful and prone to consuming the user. she's working on an immortality project if he's interested in helping out or being her guinea pig (if he's got any self preservation instinct, maybe don't offer to be the latter. actually, anyone smart wouldn't be helping at all)
cael is older than zareen, but honestly she doesn't give a shit about that part. she'll still take him under her wing because she's seen his type before and she just loves to feed that negativity. she just loves hurting people as much as she can and she wants cael to find the same kind of joy she does because she loves fucking people up. zareen sees regular humans as trash, so.
also, zareen isn't really interested in boys but maybe their parents could have arranged a marriage? they'd probably be rushing it hardcore tho since zareen is so powerful that she could die at anytime from 20-30 years of age. house belet is desperate as hell to get an heir, regardless of the cost or how skeevy the entire thing is. zareen doesn't really care about love or any of that, though. it would be a purely political thing, but it could make for an interesting curve to their relationship.
LMAO if u want a more...positive plot w/ him then i can offer alya karimi. she's a scientist who's on a constant rivalry w/ the researchers from zaqar, but she's recently stumbled upon some really big shit and she would be infinitely grateful to anyone who could sneak her into zaquar's library.

cael zaqar Pssst Battle plot with me... Larsa & Cael: Larsa's a witch as well, but considering he's not exactly highborn and isn't a prominent witch, Cael probably won't be interested in him. Also he's from Irkalla so I'd... have to get back to you on that. They're both the same age though. Larsa would probably feel that Cael's been stifled his entire life and want to take him on the equivalent of a Devotio road trip (which would end badly whoops). Caelin & Cael: tbh I want to thread these two just for the sole reason that their names are similar and maybe we'll both get confused... He's a 60yo Naga who lives in Centerspine, so I'd need a bit more thinking to come up with a reason for these two to bump into each other. Hector & Cael: Hector's not the head of a house, but I feel like he might have the best shot at figuring out a plot with Cael? He's the current Imperial General of the Empire, and his family also have ties to nobility. What said "plot" actually is, I will... get back to you... on that... Now that I think about it, Larsa might actually be the easiest to toss at you, who would have known.

ZAREEN BELET TBH i want both of these plots...but i'm afraid of falling behind on posts so i'll focus more on zareen and cael for the time being aaa I'm liking the arranged marriage aspect of it - cael has plenty of self preservation instinct, but his interest in something so out of the ordinary would probably override it enough to motivate him to help zareen out in her experiments(he really doesn't have interest in being head of another house so it would benefit him in the end as well). i don't think he'll ever be able to convince himself to be her guinea pig though? it just happens to be something that catches his interest, and he'll pursue it accordingly relationship-wise, cael's first impressions/views on zareen would most likely be strong interest due to her powerful magic/literal decaying life/the fact that she's incredibly similar to himself/really just another witch in general. He knows he likes fucking with other people's minds but also understands that he hasn't gotten to the point to be able to do it efficiently so zareen's influence would be massive in this sort of...uncertain point in his life, i would say? in summary they're so good together and they would become the duo of evil and destruction...perfect...if u have any other thoughts let me know or i can start a thread? im thinking a first real introduction to each other besides the meetings where they were just dragged along by their families to meet face to face? on another note cael wouldn't be against letting alya into the library if she told him why she needed to, maybe owe him a favor for the future when he needs it or something like that to make the situation that much more 'interesting'. HECTOR GRIMOIREjin i will always want to plot w you cael + larsa: cael's pretty interested in all witches, actually - moreso than humans, which he won't even part a passing glance to. i think that larsa would be interesting to cael too because he practices healing, which is outside of black magic's range? i'm at a loss as to how they would meet up with each other, but my guess is that one day cael might get bored of nobility and take a break from being head for the day to visit irkalla? like anybody's going to stop him(jk there's probably something to stop him, but if not this would be how they meet up). he's pretty bored of being around the same house for so long so a road trip wouldn't actually be a bad idea, if it happens?  cael + -in: if they were shipped would it still be Caelin....ANYWAYS i have no idea how they would run into each other but please let me know if you think of anything and i will vice versa, probably on skype. a thread between them would be pretty cool(expect a lot of typos). cael + hector: i see this as the easiest plot to start, but it kind of gets blurry somewhere in the middle. as nobility/both living in shara I feel like cael has to have run into hector at some point. the problem I'm seeing here is just a mixture of apathy and hatred on cael's part? like yeah hector's an imperial general/champion but he's still human and therefore worth very little in cael's mind. he'd ignore hector, if anything, but it's not necessarily an set-in-stone opinion just yet. i'm out of ideas at this point so pls tell me your thoughts? you have good plots jin. in the end i agree that larsa + cael would be easiest to plot out, with hector + cael being second easiest to plot out. if you're up for a thread/have more thoughts please let me know...these are just some of my ideas...

cael zaqar Do I still have you on Skype... I think I forgot to rename you... orz What was it again? In any case, I could definitely see Cael picking on Larsa. Larsa's the kind of person that most people would pick to visit if they wanted to be entertained. Black Magic is something that Larsa's unfamiliar with, so he'd be up for listening about it and finding out more about Cael's magical capabilities. On that note, he'd also be all right with sharing things about himself? I'm... drawing a blank with Hector, so I think Larsa might actually be a good place to start with? As a side note, I also have Lyndon now, part of a mafia ring whose leader is actually in Shara, but also operates in Irkalla. I don't know what Cael would be doing with mafia ties though.
