she is not ambitious. she didn't ask for any of this but she knows it is her duty to perform well. and although she never desires a fight-- the people behind her brother's death will pay. she does not want revenge, she believes it to be petty. but she knows: the citizens of shara do.

if her brother was a sword, she is now a shield and a reluctant sword. a cautious blade. she will protect first, and if all else fails, she will fight. a loss for althea does not mean a loss for shara- she acknowledges that.

(he was probably a child himself when the disappearances occurred.)

he's guarded. although he does like people (humans or monsters, they are both people to him) in general, it can take a while to wear him down.

he's slightly pessimistic- he expects bad things to happen in general. maybe he's a little lost in regards to his identity. maybe he's pretending to be someone he's not. maybe he's not who you think he is.

[attr="class","slider"] [break] [attr="class","nothing"] ORFIEL is a witch who controls psi. he's slightly obsessed with breaking fate's bonds- specifically the monster/champion bond. so he is part of a 'cult,' you could say, that travels and bloodies up monsters in an attempt to kill them. but obviously, they never have.

he believes he is the key to destroying fate altogether. sometimes he can seem a little "all powerful," and "all knowing," but it can be mistaken for confidence.

but it stems from insecurity, and fear-- the fear of dying at the hands of his monster, fear of failure, fear that maybe he isn't anything special at all.

yes pls torment orfiel, he kinda needs to be taken down a notch tbch and yes. pine and thalia. he's in neri right now, so they might not be able to meet at the moment..we could do a flashback thread of him crossing the country side...but thalia'd have to be like...six bc he's four years older than her and he was ten at the time. or, maybe he stole thalia at some point? as a child, pine had a tendency of stealing other kids and bringing them to a cave... failed attempts at finding a friend/family. he always released them immediately after, but maybe he took thalia?constancy and thalia. constancy is a merchant so she can really be anywhere, although not for very long. i think she might enjoy thalia's company, to an extent-- but her behavior might cause thalia to ask some questions and she'd have to get tf outta there. orfiel and thalia. orfiel is genderbend yves. so. there's that. he's part of that group i told you about where they hunt monsters and try to kill them. "breaking the bonds of fate." truthfully, his whole "i was destined to do this" thing is pretty phony. thalia might detect that. he only acts out of his own fear. he's known he has a contract for a while. his parents have his grave picked out and his funeral planned. pretty fucking terrifying. omg... i'd love for orfiel and his cult friends to bloody up artemis in an attempt to kill him...but the only problem is, even artemis doesn't realise he's a monster. orfiel could find out (somehow) and hell he could be the one who ends up telling him (and artemis will refuse to believe him) that he's a monster. idk i just want artemis to get bloodied up tbh i'm so nice to my characters ha..ha...

though also, if he's interested in breaking champion/monster bonds, artemis - even if orfiel did basically torture artemis and cause artemis to strongly dislike him - would actually end up seeking him out and asking if he has had any luck with breaking contracts. at this time artemis would be slightly crazy and it'd probably be in the far future but hey plots right

so Erik doesn't exactly have the means to leave Shara, unless it's pure sheer will and that involves leaving his garden behind and sorry he's not about that life, but perhaps he and Pine have met in the past while Erik was travelling?
and by travelling i mean running from his contracted champion because he really doesn't want to die.
honestly i can just see these two having met while Erik was camped out under the stars and Pine just shows up allegedly with a kid he kind of nabbed and they just have that moment where they stare at each other kind of uncertain about what's going on before Erik kind of asks if he'd like to share a fire.
maybe they hanged together for a little while before Erik inevitably had to leave to keep travelling on? idk how they'd get back together right now unless Erik hitched a ride out of Shara temporarily but eeey that's what this is for right-

ARTEMIS && PINE-- tbch he doesn't really steal them anymore-- he lives in neri currently but will probably be back in the mountains shortly. he could probably meet artemis then, although i'm not sure if he'd steal artemis's daughter w/o reason to. [he only did before because he was a lonely kid himself. he'd take them and ask them if they wanted to stay with him a while/play...but they p much always wanted to leave so he set them free.] ARTEMIS && ORFIEL-- i'm not 100% sure how orfiel would find out, but if he did, he'd most likely gather up as many people as he could to try and take artemis down. i'm not sure if you want knowledge of artemis being a monster public to the city yet, but that would most likely happen. and if they did bloody him up, i absolutely love the idea of artemis coming back. normally, orfiel would just bloody him up again (or try to, lol) but if artemis has something to offer, orfiel might begrudgingly align with him. he'd rather have someone on his side, it doesn't really matter if artemis is a monster in that case. ERIK && PINE-- i love this. pine doesn't steal children anymore, but currently i'm rping out a flashback thread in which he has traveled to neri, as a young child. i'm not sure if erik would have been on the run at this point. (pine was about 10 which would make erik 13 i believe. that's really the time when pine was stealing kids, btw). maybe they traveled to neri together-- pine knows the centerspines very well so he could've helped erik get through them. if you're looking for a more...recent ordeal i don't think it's possible. pine's been in neri ever since, staying with a family there. maybe it could be a future plot, because pine's gonna have to get tf out of neri soon or he's p much gonna be dead. when erik's champion (pls tell me it's stefan, btw..) finds out that erik is still alive, they could meet up in the wilderness and help each other out. or better yet, both of the above would be p fucking cool and dramatic...imagine meeting a kid you knew for a month or two when you were thirteen but being able to depend on them completely. that's kind of how the world has to work for monsters, they depend on each other, because the world sort of dislikes them. tbh...artemis's daughter is a lot like him. she likes to wander off and probably ends up getting herself in some kind of shit. she's pretty adventurous and it's likely she'll end up wandering off in the mountains in which case she could meet pine and pine could consequently meet artemis.

honestly, i have no idea howhe'd find out either. it's entirely possible that a witch (probs not orfiel, someone who specialises in finding monsters) could find out and tell them, or something. artemis would insist that he wasn't a monster but yeah, once wings start growing he'd definitely realise that something is off and go research. artemis's confusion at being called a monster could be a reason as to why orfiel doesn't make the knowledge of artemis being a monster public knowledge, but idk is that likely at all??

SO he might not have been on the run at 13 but i really really feel like they should have met irregardless, maybe travelling with his mother and got separated for a period of time because oops erik is a really curious little shit. they definitely could have traveled to neri, probably erik meeting up with his mother and having to leave.
as for FUTURE plot. yes.
stefan probably is going to find out erik still, well, is living and well despite supposed to be dead and that's going to piss off stefan and erik's basically going to end up having to leave everything and run again. to which he could meet pine, maybe after getting utterly lost in centerspines.
then erik is just going to have to rely on pine again for a while tbh. probably ask him if he knows of any super remote place that erik can stay in for a while because he really just wants to stay away from stefan. |

[karimi's the bae ;u; and bc orfiel's genderbend yves he probably would still treat her with respect, even if she left. he'd just use the excuse that "it wasn't her calling," or "she wasn't ready," or "that wasn't her destiny."] SOPHIA & PINE-- ok so...i like the idea of them having met in the past. even though she was terrifying, he probably tried to approach her. child!pine was terribly, terribly lonely and literally would speak to anyone he possibly could. if it wasn't for those ever so rare hikers or monsters he saw, he most likely wouldn't have learned to speak at all. as for the present plot- pine is going to have to leave neri very very soon. if he knew sophia from before, she's probably the first person he'd go to in hopes of shelter. in a suit and tie, no less. he might've seen pictures of her with her council member parent or smth like that. some sort of press shoot would probably give him the clue to go to her and act civilized. tbh he might ask for advice ab avoiding his fated. also AB THE WHOLE CHILD THING, YES YES PLS HE NEEDS TO FEEL THT WAY SOMETIMES SO DO IT 1000% SOPHIA ROSENBURG

(im half asleep rn i almost asked who the fuck is neri) yeah, there probably won't be that much conflict but i'm the kind of person who goes straight for the extremes and works it down from there not even kindding lmfao. honestly though, regardless of what pine does, and how... idk, nice/friendly/passive??? (idk the word) he would act (doesn't wanna get into conflict kind of guy), artemis would blow things out of proportion and not believe a word of what pine says. but yeah, i'd be cool with this happening in the futue (the problem is..remembering it)
